Every month we collect what changed in the product and explain it the way we would on the phone: what changes for your file, not how we built it. Last updated 2 October 2026. NurseryGuard is software, not an inspector; it keeps the records and the diary.
Group policies on one page, and the daily board for everyone
Groups get a simpler policies page and a smoother way in for each setting. The daily board is now switched on for every nursery.

Group sign-up
- A page for each setting in a group. Group managers can send each setting its own link. The page shows the group price and the free month, and lets the setting take up its place or pass the link to the right person. 29 September 2026

Group policies
- Review and sign in one place. Group managers can see which settings still need to sign, remind a manager, and open a policy straight from the list. A single document now has a short path to signing. 1 October 2026
- Plainer messages when local details are missing. Group policy pages say plainly which local detail is missing for a setting, and the people cards fill in from the register. 30 September 2026
- Group policies rebuilt as one page. Policies for a whole group now sit on one page. Review a setting's answers before they become the group's, then push, remind or ask from the same place. 29 September 2026
Security
- Security hardening across sign-in and uploads. Further checks behind the scenes to keep your records safe. 1 October 2026
Daily board
- The daily board is on for everyone. The daily board no longer needs to be switched on. It is there for every nursery and every group. 30 September 2026
Room check
- First aider present is now your answer. The room check no longer pre-fills whether a first aider is present. You choose Yes or No, so the record is yours. 30 September 2026
- Ratio wording matches the daily board. The room check result now says Ratio met or Ratio gap, the same as the daily board. 29 September 2026
Group view
- Clearer counts and short room checks across the group. The Checks tile counts records that have not been made yet. Short room checks from each setting now show on the group view. 30 September 2026
Policies
- Typical wording and self-check prompts. Typical wording is now offered for seven more policy topics, with short prompts to help you check your answers. 29 September 2026
Staff and checks in one register, and a view across every setting
September brought a single Staff and checks register, the daily board, a group view, easier sign-in and a full move to the 2026 EYFS framework.

Daily board
- The daily board. A board for the day that shows where rooms stand, with evidence recorded at the end of each block. Group managers get a read-only view across their settings. 25 September 2026
Inspection file
- Build the inspection file as a PDF. One button builds your inspection file. DBS counts include current staff only, not leavers. 25 September 2026
Staff files
- Staff and checks in one register. Staff and pre-employment checks are now one Staff and checks register, with a count in the menu that includes barred-list gaps. 24 September 2026
- Staff import and due dates. Paste your team from a spreadsheet. Every renewal shows a due date, and overdue items are listed with earlier reminders sent to a visible address. 11 September 2026
Sign-up
- Sign up with an emailed link. You no longer need a password to start. We email you a link and you are in. 24 September 2026
Billing
- Manage your plan in the app. Change plan, move to annual, pause or cancel from inside the app. There is no second bill at checkout. 24 September 2026
Group view
- A group dashboard. Group managers see a worklist with the settings that most need attention first, can reorder settings, and can invite the manager of one setting in place. 24 September 2026
Group policies
- Policies built once for the group, signed per setting. Write a policy once for the group. Each setting signs its own copy, and a push never replaces something already signed. 12 September 2026
Policies
- Moved to the 2026 EYFS framework. Policies, checks and citations now follow the 2026 EYFS framework. 4 September 2026
Guided setup
- About your setting. Guided setup starts with About your setting, then rooms, team, generate, adopt and build. The local authority look-up fills in the children's social care contact. 3 September 2026
A new website, a quicker room check and a tighter policies page
August went mostly into the nurseryguard.uk website and the staff app, with a few fixes to the room check.

- A weekly 'still covered' digest. Each week you get a short email on what is still in date, plus a note after your first diary entry. 29 August 2026

- Volunteer DBS audit. A free audit sheet for volunteer DBS checks, with a gap sheet and a draft allergen matrix. 29 August 2026
Website
- New homepage and more pages. The nurseryguard.uk site was rebuilt around the staff file, with a mobile ratio-check mock-up, a comparison page and a safer-sleep question in the FAQ. The resources page works better on a phone. 28 August 2026

- Safer sleep and volunteer DBS topics. Two more draft topics were prepared for review. 28 August 2026

- Thumb-friendly room check. Room buttons are larger, a picked room folds into a compact row, each room carries forward its last answers, and the page shows when it was last checked. 29 August 2026
Staff app
- Room picker uses your own rooms. Staff choose from the rooms the manager set up. Quiz answers are readable again on a phone. 29 August 2026
Sign-in
- One-tap sign-in from our emails and calls. The link in a call follow-up or email takes you straight into the app. 12 August 2026
